American Government CLEP Exams

General Description

The American Government CLEP covers the material you would normally learn in a first year US government class. You will need to learn how the American system works including the division of powers, the political powers, and the constitution. There is a lot to take in but just think you will then be able to impress your friends by quoting the constitution.

Mark Allocation

The American Government CLEP is broken out into 5 main sections which then are broken down again. They are:

Institutions and policy processes – 30-35%

Federal courts, civil liberties, civil rights – 15-20 %

Political parties and other interest groups – 15-20%

Political beliefs and behavior – 10-15%

Constitutional underpinnings – 15-20%

How to Study for the American Government CLEP
